Mr. Sangay

Mr. Sangay has been working as a Senior Forestry Specialist with Department of Forests & Park Services (DoFPS), Royal Government of Bhutan prior to joining the SAARC Forestry Centre (SFC). He started his career in 1983 as an Assistant Program Officer in His Majesty's Secretariat. On his transfer, he worked as a Senior Planning officer in the Ministry of Agriculture & Forests (MoAF) during 1990-1997. He also served as Senior Forestry Economist for a series of multilateral donor supported projects of the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, FAO, UNDP as well as bilateral projects such as Austrian supported forestry projects, Swiss/SDC and GTZ programmes related to forestry during 1998-2005. He was appointed as Program Director in 2005 for an IFAD funded Agriculture, Marketing and Enterprise Promotion programme (AMEPP) in the Program Facilitation Office, Khangma, Tashigang, in Eastern Bhutan and worked there untill January 2013
Mr. Sangay completed his Masters in Forestry from Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada in 1997. His undergraduate degree includes BA Honours in Economics from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, India and Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Policy & Project Planning from ISS, The Hague, The Netherlands.
